Dynamic R&D policy places Geocean at the forefront of the latest technological developments and high performance tools. Our R&D department seeks new solutions and employs real, applied research adapted to the specific needs of each project. Thanks to our innovative solutions, Geocean is capable of performing efficiently marine works with customised equipment.
Geocean’s set of specialized excavators are well-adapted for work in shallow water and surf zones, where the impact on the surrounding environment must be minimized. Today, our solutions offer an economical alternative to conventional dredging solutions requiring heavy naval resources in sensitive landfall and surf zones. Impact on the surrounding environment is minimized by precise and punctual seabed cuttings (removing outcrops, flattering the seabed). Then seabed materials dispersed are few and their dispersion is minimized.
Based on a 35 tonnes excavator, MaX has been designed for underwater works, benefiting from its high power and versatility.
Scope of Work
- Shallow water dredging
- Rock blasting
- Trench opening in surf zones
- Submarine pipeline burial
- Underwater civil work
Super MaX is an hydraulic excavator dedicated for shallow water areas.
Scope of work
- Dredging / trenching in shallow water
- Trench excavation in surf zone
- Pipe burial
- Civil works in shallow water
ABYSS is a subsea remote hydraulic submarine excavator designed for operation in shallow and deep water. The driver operates the excavator from a sheltered control room located at a distance from the Site. This excavator can perform heavy works down to 100m water depth, but may be easily upgraded to reach 1,000m water depth. The ABYSS can be launched directly from the shore or from a support vessel.
Scope of Work
- Trench opening in surf zones (pre- & post-trenching)
- Cutting of structures
- Underwater civil works
400 tons Subsea Chain Puller
The Geocean Chain Puller is a subsea remote tensioner designed to avoid the use of high bollard pull tugs, and operates in shallow and deep water. The driver operates the tensioner from a sheltered control room located on the deck of the support vessel. This machine can perform tensioning works down to 100m water depth, but may be easily upgraded to reach 1,000m water depth.
Scope of Work
- Subsea tensioning of mooring lines for CALM buoys, SPM & CBM; shallow water FPSO, floating offshore wind turbines.
